Media Changes; the Numbers
Two major changes have been occuring simultaneously. Use of new media has been growing at an unprecedented pace. The changes are so rapid that one needs to follow them month to month. At the same time the old media is crashing. Their plight was exacerbated by the recession of 2008-2009; advertising revenue was drying up because of the recession. However, fewer people were using the old media and more were using the new media. Tech bloggers have written about both moves. They are delighted as the new media, which includes themselves, prosper and they are not very sympathetic as the old media falls apart -- you need to adapt, they say. I have collected links to many of the pieces chronicling these changes. They are listed below in chronological order with the oldest at the top and the newest at the bottom of the list. Clicking on the link for the article will take you to where it was originally posted. You can also click on the link for the list display and it will take you to YouBundle which is the software I used to aggregate the links. The lists will be kept up to date as I will add to them as I read more 'numbers.'
