Iran has charged three detained U.S. citizens with espionage, the official IRNA news agency quoted a judiciary official as saying on Monday.

I checked search phrases with Tweetvolume.

When I checked "iran arrest americans" was too broad. "Iran hikers" seemed to be related to this event and got more tweets. So "iran hikers" was the search phrase.

The first search was approximately 8:30 November 9, 2009. It found 755 messages -- though some of them referred to events connected with this group several weeks ago when they were first apprehended. Archivist has not found many messages since then; at midnight it is up only to 772.
