Sarah Palin -- hot political news
A book is ready to appear with Palin listed as author. There was a leak -- surprise, surprise -- and the messages are streaming.
And The Washington Post had a story -- if not breaking news.
I checked with TweetVolume
It turned out that "palin (rogue OR memoir)" picked up the most by 150 tweets. So that is what I used for search.
The first search was at about 9:00 a.m. November 13, 2009 and it found 1450 messages. The first was on November 4. The chart showed some up and down between the 4th and the 13th.
Perhaps there is more here than I have been seeing. This is the timeline so far.
That is not terribly impressive. The messaging made it up to 1500 the day the book was announced or released. Since there has been a precipitous decline with a couple of bounces. Those are not big numbers, but her supporters are ecstatic -- number of sales of the book, big crowds at book signings, lots of TV coverage. Perhaps this is, in its own weird way, another inside the beltway event.
But I want to check on the long term. Maybe there is something I am missing about enthusiasm for Palin. So, off to Twendistic for #palin. This would be a broader search incorporating the book release.
The search was terminated April 3, 2010. The figure shows the distribution of messages over time.
There was the one spike when the book went on sale, and then decay over time with very few references after a couple of months.
