Christopher Boynton of Sedbury, co. York.
Joan (Visit. 1564), daughter of Robert Strangeways of Skelton, and widow of Conan Barton, of Whenby, co. York, who died in 1436. The will of Dame Joan Boynton, of Yarm, is dated 7 April 1486, and proved 7 February, 1488/9. She had a licence for an oratory at Sedbury, 2 December, 1455, and also 30 April, 1463, to have service in an oratory wherever she chose, and on 19 March 1473/4, Archbishop Nevile granted her the privilege for 3 years.
