The Boyntons of the New World
In 1638 William and John packed up and headed for the new world. They joined a group headed by the minister of the church in Rowley, Yorkshire. When they got to what would become Massachusetts they settled close to the coast, and they called their town Rowley.
Rowley, Massachusetts

The town is about 40 miles notheast of Boston. All that seems to be left from the seventeenth century is the cemetery and the house used for the Rowley Historical Society..
Despite the claim that nearly all the original settlers are buried in the cemetary I was unable to find the graves of William and John or of any other Boyntons before the 19th century. The Rowley Historical Society had a very nice sign, but the building was being refurbished and the society was not in evidence.
This is the story of who begat whom ending in the Boyntons of No One Place -- us. Much of the information is derived from John Farnham and Caroline Harriman Boynton, The Boynton Family. Harriet Boynton made the notes about this Boynton family; click on the images to read her hand written notes. In addition, she put together the pictures of three generations below the notes.
