Margaret, daughter and co-heiress of Sir Martin del See (son of Brian de la See, by Matilda Monceaux), lord of Barmston, co. York, by Margaret, his 1st wife, daughter and co-heiress of Christopher Spencer. There is an award dated 3 March, 1497, between Dame Margery Boynton, widow, and Piers Hildyard, and Jane, his wife, another daughter of Sir Martin, granting themselves and their tenants free pasage through the manors of Lysset, Willsthorp, and Gemlin. She took the veil, commission dated 12 June, 1495, and was admitted of Corpus Christi, York, 1513. this Dame Margery was a votary and patroness to the priory of Nun Cotham. In a deed, dated 6 April, 15 Henry 7, 1501, she mentions her sons, Henry and Martin. will dated 2 Sept., 1523, whereby she directs her son, Thomas, to enter upon Barmston at her decease, and appoints Cuthbert Tunstall, bishop of Durham, one of her executors, will proved 21 November, 1536.
