Walter de Boynton married x, daughter of William Aton

Sir Walter de Boynton (son and heir, Visit. 1564), succeeded his father in 1320, and heir to his brother John, I Edward 3, 1327 8; then aged 34 years, and living 50 Edward 3, 1376, lord of the manor of Rouceby. He was knighted in 1356, being in the serivce of the Black Prince, in Brittany, and had the king's letters of protection, dated 8 February, of the same year. He is mentioned as witness to the grant of Handale in Cleveland, and also in a deed without date, concerning lands in Rousby, naming the yearly payment of a pair of spurs, a penny price.
