Francis Boynton married Dorothy Place.

Sir Francis Boynton. On July, 1590, he had the assignment of a lease of the rectory and church of rudstone, and tithes belonging to it. High sheriff of Yorkshire, 1586/7, 23elizabeth, and on 4 Feb., 1602, he received a pardon under the great seal, and on 19 Sept. following was appointed one of the Northern council, knighted at York, 17 April, 1603, by King James, when he passed through that city on his way from Scotland, and had a deutation, dated at York, 11 March, 1615, for preserving the game in the North and East Ridings. by will, dated 29 May, 1614, he desired to be interred at Barmston whenever he deceases. He was buried at Barmston, having died 9 April, 1617, seised of the manors of Barmston-cm-Winkton, Rousby, Acklam, Rudstone, a moiety of the manor of Middleton tyas, and lands in Boynton, and the rectories of Barmston and Bridlington. Dorothy Place, dau. and eventually heiress of Sir Christopher Place, of Halnaby, buried at Barmston, 12 February, 1632.
